Marcus Tegnér accepted as PhD student at Lund University

Marcus Tegnér has been accepted as a PhD student

We are delighted to announce that Marcus Tegnér has been accepted as a PhD student at the Department of Clinical Sciences, Lund University.

Marcus works as a specialist in pathology at Växjö Hospital and has, for some time, been closely collaborating with our research group through his expertise in histopathological assessment of tumors. His contribution has been instrumental in several ongoing projects focused on the correlation between imaging findings and histopathology.

In his doctoral project, “Photoacoustic and hyperspectral imaging for preoperative assessment of skin cancers,” Marcus will explore how advanced, non-invasive imaging techniques can improve preoperative tumor evaluation. By combining photoacoustic imaging (PAI) and hyperspectral imaging (HSI), the project aims to visualize both the surface and depth of skin tumors, enhancing surgical precision and reducing unnecessary removal of healthy tissue.

We warmly welcome Marcus as a PhD student and look forward to continuing our collaboration and following the exciting progress of his research.
