Fruitful PAI workshop

On May 16th the Lund University Photoacoustic Center users met for a whole day workshop of discussions and interactions in the Turning Torso in Malmö, 190 meter above ground. Clinical problems and technical solutions were presented by clinicians and engineers. Clinical topics included PAI as a diagnostic tool in cancer, giant cell arthritis and amyloidosis, laser speckle contrast imaging during reconstructive and strabismus surgery as well as the use of ultrasound in surgery of Hirschsprung's disease. The engineers presented the technical learnings from the centres first 3 years with PAI, advancement in motion compensation and spectral unmixing, how an advanced hyperspectral imaging setup can be built out of Lego as well as the latest updates on a new generation of slow light systems.  Industrial collaborations and collaborations with external universities were highlighted.
